CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -Dion Phaneuf scored the tying goal then set up Mike Cammalleri's go-ahead goal as Calgary scored twice on the power play in the second period to beat the Boston Bruins 3-2 on Thursday night for its fifth consecutive victory.

Phaneuf's power-play goal at 2:29 of the second period ended Tim Thomas' shutout streak at 152 minutes and 14 seconds.

Boston entered the game ranked 29th in penalty killing, but had killed off most of the penalty when Jarome Iginla's cross-ice pass intended for Todd Bertuzzi deflected off a stick into the slot where it was slapped in by Phaneuf.

With help from four straight man advantages, Calgary continued to pressure Thomas throughout the second period eventually taking the lead at 18:37 when Cammalleri tipped in Phaneuf's slap shot.

Dustin Boyd added his second of the season in the third period for Calgary. The Flames moved into a first-place tie with Minnesota atop the Northwest Division.

Patrice Bergeron and Blake Wheeler scored for Boston, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.

The third goal of the season for the rookie Wheeler got the Bruins within one with 7:44 remaining in the third period.

However, they could not get the tying goal behind Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff despite several great chances. Kiprusoff stopped a one-timer from David Krejci, jabbing out a pad to thwart Marc Savard as he cut across the front of the net, and smothering a shot from Chara stationed alone at the top of the crease.

Kiprusoff finished with 29 saves, including 13 in the final period.

After allowing four or more goals in each of his first four games, Kiprusoff has been brilliant during the five-game winning streak having given up only seven goals.

Leading 2-1, Boyd gave Calgary a bit of breathing room on a nice rush at 5:40 of the third period.

Boyd broke out of his own zone and charged down the right wing, tipped the puck past defenseman Mark Stuart, and from the faceoff circle wristed a high shot that got by Thomas.

Boston opened the scoring at 13:07 of the first period on a misplay by Kiprusoff.

While behind the net, Kiprusoff's attempt to clear the puck to a defenseman instead was intercepted by Bergeron, who curled out front and wrapped in his second goal of the season.

Notes: Calgary C Wayne Primeau played in his 700th NHL game while D Robyn Regehr appeared in career game No. 600. Primeau is on his sixth NHL team while all of Regehr's games have come with Calgary. ... Kiprusoff and New Jersey's Martin Brodeur are the only goalies remaining that have played every minute of their team's games. ... Calgary C Matthew Lombardi (shoulder) remains sidelined. He's missed three games and has yet to resume skating. ... Calgary's last five-game winning streak was Dec. 29-Jan. 5 of last season. That streak came on the heels of a six-game winning streak Dec. 9-18.
