BOSTON (AP) -- Jamie McLennan is proving that the Calgary Flames have two goalies they can count on.

McLennan made 30 saves for his third shutout of the season and Jarome Iginla scored two goals to lead Calgary past the Boston Bruins 5-0 Thursday night, the Flames' fourth win in six games.

The Flames, 7-1-2-1 in their last 10, scored five goals on their first nine shots and moved into a tie with Colorado for second place in the Northwest Division.

McLennan hadn't played in Calgary's last eight games because to the emergence of Miikka Kiprusoff, who took over top duties by posting an 8-2-1 record and a league-leading .937 save percentage. But McLennan says his reduced role is just fine if the Flames keep winning.

"I haven't played much lately but it's been real easy not to play because we've been playing well," McLennan said. "When you get in there you want to contribute because you don't want the level of play to drop off."

Ahead 2-0 after the first period, the Flames put the game out of reach with three goals during a 5:46 stretch late in the second. Iginla made it 3-0 with his second goal of the game and 11th this season 11:36 into the period. He got help from Matthew Lombardi, who faked Andrew Raycroft out of the crease and left Iginla with a wide-open net.

Jordan Leopold pushed Calgary's lead to 4-0 just 3:09 later with his fifth goal, and Dean McAmmond put the Flames ahead 5-0 with a slap shot from the circle at 17:22.

"We buried our chances," Flames forward Chris Clark said. "Nine shots and five goals, that's something that doesn't happen too many times for any team."

Boston replaced Raycroft after the second period with Felix Potvin. Raycroft allowed five goals on 10 shots.

"Our goal coming in was to get to their young goalie and to shut (Joe) Thornton's line down," Calgary coach Darryl Sutter. "Thornton's line after two periods was minus-3, and we got to their goalie."

Calgary needed just four shots in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Iginla opened the scoring 8:43 in the first period, and Josh Green made it 2-0 at 13:26 with his first of the season and first with the Flames since signing during the offseason.

"We didn't give up a lot of scoring chances but the ones we did were too good of quality," Boston coach Mike Sullivan said. "It was one of those nights where the harder we tried the worse it got."

McLennan earned his first win since Nov. 18. Lombardi and Martin Gelinas each added a pair of assists.
