2015-16 Ice Girls Frequently Asked QuestionsIs there an age requirement to apply?
All applicants must be 18 years of age or older by August 31, 2015 and must be a high school graduate (or equivalent) to be eligible. Photo identifications will be checked at the time of auditions. Those without proper ID will not be eligible to audition.
Do Boston Bruins Ice Girls work with the team full-time?
No, being a member of the Boston Bruins Ice Girls is a part-time position. Each Ice Girl is expected to attend 30+ home games as well as work 20+ community appearances. Most current members attend college or have other jobs that allow their schedule to be flexible enough to complete these requirements.
Is this a paid position?
Yes, the Boston Bruins Ice Girls are paid a flat rate for games and an hourly rate for community appearances.
Do I have to be an expert skater?
No, being an expert skater is not a must. All skating levels are accepted to audition; however, members of the Boston Bruins Ice Girls take the ice at TD Garden during Bruins home games as well as numerous appearances throughout the season. Each applicant selected to audition will be asked to skate for a portion of Round 1 auditions. Not all of the Ice Girls skate during the season.
What if I don't have skates?
The Boston Bruins Ice Girls wear hockey skates. All applicants selected to audition need to provide their own pair of hockey skates. The rink for Round 1 has rental skates that you can rent for the duration of the skating portion of Round 1.
What do I need to wear to auditions?
Round 1: You should wear a two-piece outfit consisting of form fitting pants or athletic shorts and a sports bra or dance style top. Please also bring athletic footwear. You are encouraged to bring a warm top to be worn while waiting between activities in the ice rink.
Round 2: You will need to wear the same outfit worn for Round 1. You will not need your skates for Round 2.
Round 3: All finalists should wear a business-style outfit that would be worn to an interview or professional meeting.
Are there any height or weight requirements?
There are no specific requirements; however, the uniform demands a lean figure. Being physically fit is part of the athletic image of the Boston Bruins Ice Girls.
What do the judges look for?

- Physically fit appearance
Each season, both veterans and new applicants audition side by side. The team for 2015-16 will consist of approximately 20 members.
What time do I need to be at TD Garden for a game?
The call time for Bruins home games is 90 minutes prior to the announced game time. For example, the call time is 5:30 PM for a 7:00 PM game. Please note, not all team members work every game.
Do team members travel with the team away games?
No, the Boston Bruins Ice Girls only work the games played at TD Garden. Throughout the season there may be events that require team members to be sent to other cities, but not in conjunction with a Boston Bruins game.
