B's Assign Matt Lindblad to Providence
BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, March 15, that the club has assigned forward Matt Lindblad to Providence (American Hockey League).
Lindblad made his NHL debut on Saturday, March 15 against the Carolina Hurricanes at TD Garden.
Lindblad has skated in 43 games this season for the Providence Bruins, tallying seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points.
The forward has appeared in 47 total games for the P-Bruins from 2012-14 and has netted eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points during that span.
Prior to joining Providence, the 23-year-old skated three seasons (2010-13) for Dartmouth College. In 89 games for the Big Green, Lindblad racked up 29 goals and 51 assists for 80 points. Before Dartmouth, the centerman played in the United States Hockey League with the Sioux Falls Stampede (2009-10) and the Chicago Steel (2008-09). The forward skated in 57 games for the Stampede and he accrued 24 goals and 46 assists for 70 points. While with the Steel, the forward appeared in 51 games where he scored five goals and acquired 20 assists.
The 5’11’’, 193-pound Winnetka, IL native was signed by Boston as a free agent on April 5, 2013.
