STATS & NOTES YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING…

OLYMPIAN SUCCESS: Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, Loui Eriksson, and David Krejci have all registered at least one point so far throughout the Olympic Games. As of Friday, Eriksson and Krejci lead the pack, each with three points (Eriksson: 2-1=3 totals, Krejci: 1-2=3 totals).  Bergeron has tallied two assists for Team Canada, while Zdeno Chara finished with one helper for Team Slovakia. Goaltender Tuukka Rask has notched two wins thus far in the tournament with a 2.30 goals against average and a .918 save percentage…  Eriksson and Bergeron will square off in the gold medal game on Sunday, February 23 at 7:00 a.m., while Rask and Finland will go head-to-head with Team USA to battle for a podium spot in the bronze medal game on Saturday, February 22 at 10:00 a.m. ET.

On February 7, B’s Captain Zdeno Chara carried the Slovakian flag for his country during the opening ceremony in Sochi, Russia. Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli has been serving as an Assistant General Manager for Team Canada. Head Coach Claude Julien was also elected to serve on the Team Canada staff as an Assistant Coach.

BERGERON QUICK ON THE DRAW:
Bruins centerman Patrice Bergeron will begin the post break action second in faceoff percentage at 59.7%, behind former Bruin Vladimir Sobotka (60.9%, St. Louis) while Manny Malhotra is a close third (59.3%, Carolina). Bergeron however leads the league in faceoff wins (739), ahead of Sidney Crosby who ranks second with 728 wins.

BRUINS TEDDY BEAR SLEEPOVER AT BELLINGHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY:
On Monday, February 24, the Boston Bruins will be visiting Bellingham Public Library in Bellingham, MA for a special edition of their Teddy Bear Sleepover.  Bruins Mascot Blades and the children will be picking up their teddy bears that spent the weekend at the library and will see a movie trailer, for a movie to premiere later that week, of the activities their teddy bears did while they were away.  There will be a special story time and the children will have the opportunity to take pictures with Blades.  All participants will be required to donate a pair of new pajamas for the Bruins PJ Drive in order to have their teddy bears participate in the sleepover.  For more information please see the “Around Town” section of the Week Ahead.

BRUINS & SAL’S PIZZA STREET HOCKEY CLINIC IN CONCORD:
The Bruins and Sal’s Pizza have teamed up to bring the sport of hockey to community centers and other places where children can play in a safe and structured environment. Hockey equipment and instruction are provided for children to learn and enjoy hockey free of charge, while enjoying a Sal’s Pizza party after the clinic.  The next clinic will take place on Tuesday, February 25 at the Concord Boys & Girls Club in Concord, NH from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  For more information, visit the “Around Town” section of the Week Ahead.

BOSTON BRUINS FLOOR HOCKEY CLINIC IN SUPPORT OF PJ DRIVE:
On Wednesday, February 26, the Boston Bruins will be visiting the West Suburban YMCA in Newton Centre, MA for to host a floor hockey clinic in support of the Bruins 7th Annual PJ Drive in partnership with Cradles to Crayons.  Bruins Alumni Tommy Songin and Mascot Blades will be on hand to help the kids develop their hockey skills.  Children who bring a new pair of pajamas to donate to the PJ Drive will be entered into a raffle for Bruins memorabilia.  For more information, visit the “Around Town” section of the Week Ahead.

BOSTON BRUINS I.C.E. SCHOOL VISIT AT PARKER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: On Thursday, February 27, the Boston Bruins I.C.E. School (I Can Excel) will be visiting a 3rd grade classroom at Parker Elementary School.  Students will learn one of the I.C.E. BOSTON BRUINS STREET HOCKEY CLINIC AT WOBURN BOYS & GIRLS CLUB: On Thursday, February 27, the Boston Bruins will be hosting a street hockey clinic at the Woburn Boys & Girls Club.  A current Bruins player will be on hand to assist participants between eight and 12 years old with developing their street hockey skills.  For more information, visit the “Around Town” section of the Week Ahead.

BEHIND THE B PRESENTED BY ALEX AND ANI: Episode ten of Behind the B aired on Wednesday, February 19 and chronicled the games leading up to the Olympic Break in the ‘Surge Before Sochi’. All episodes of Behind the B will air on NESN and can be streamed online at bostonbruins.com/behindtheb. Other exclusive Behind the B related content will be available on bostonbruins.com and the Boston Bruins Digital Entertainment Network (Bruins DEN) throughout the season.

BOSTON BRUINS 90TH ANNIVERSARY:
The Boston Bruins will pay tribute to 90 years of history during ten select home games throughout the 2013-14 season. The organization will honor each of the ten decades of Bruins hockey as part of the 90 Years Celebration presented by Alex and Ani.  The next celebration game will take place on Saturday, March 1 vs. the Washington Capitals, where Eddie Shore, Jr., son of former Bruins great Eddie Shore, will drop the ceremonial first puck to begin that day's tribute to the Bruins of the 1930's.

PUCKS & PUPS 2014 CALENDAR: The Bruins announced the Pucks & Pups 2014 Bruins calendar, which will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and MSPCA Angell. Pucks & Pups is a unique 2014 calendar featuring Bruins players and management photographed with their pets or with adoptable dogs from the MSPCA. Players featured in the calendar include Johnny Boychuk, Gregory Campbell, Zdeno Chara, Jarome Iginla, Chris Kelly, Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Daniel Paille, Tuukka Rask, Dennis Seidenberg, and Shawn Thornton. Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs, President Cam Neely, General Manager Peter Chiarelli and Head Coach Claude Julien also participated in the project. The calendar features the B’s with their family pets or new friends waiting for homes at the MSPCA. BRUINS ON THE AIRWAVES: Bruins defenseman Torey Krug has been confirmed as a weekly call-in guest with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak (Gresh and Zo), which airs weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. General Manager Peter Chiarelli and Johnny Boychuk are expected to be regular guests on 98.5 as well with Fred Toucher and Rich Shertenlieb (Toucher and Rich), which airs weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Call-in days and times are dependent upon the B’s schedule.

196 AND COUNTING: Following the game against the Ottawa Senators on February 8, the Boston Bruins have sold out 196 straight regular season and playoff games. This sellout streak began more than three years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).

OFF THE ICE…

PATRICE’S PALS: As a part of his continuing charitable initiative Patrice’s Pals, Bruins alternate captain Patrice Bergeron invites children from local hospitals and other organizations to experience a Bruins home game from his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags filled with Bruins memorabilia, a visit from the Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls, as well as a feature on the Garden HDX. After the game, Patrice’s Pals are escorted to ice level and introduced to Patrice himself who signs autographs and takes pictures with his Pals. This will take place at all Boston Bruins home games during the 2013-14 season.

SAVVY’S SUITE: Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard has partnered with the Brain Injury Center at Children’s Hospital Boston, inviting children who suffer from the effects of Brain Trauma, both physically and psychologically, to attend a Bruins home game in his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags with Bruins memorabilia and a visit from Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls. Savard started the program on Thursday, January 12, 2012, and it will continue through the end of the 2013-14 Bruins season.

COMMUNITY TICKET PROGRAM: For the entirety of the Boston Bruins 2013-14 regular season, Bruins Principal and Alternate Governor Charlie Jacobs is donating ten balcony tickets to every home game to children from charitable organizations across New England, who are invited to enjoy a Bruins home game from these donated seats.
