BOSTON, MA -- Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, February 3, that the club has recalled defenseman David Warsofsky from Providence (American Hockey League). Warsofsky will join the Bruins for their 10:30 practice at Ristuccia Arena on Monday.

Warsofsky has appeared in four games for Boston this season, scoring his first NHL goal against the Senators in Ottawa on December 28, 2013.

Warsofsky has skated in 42 games for Providence this year, registering three goals and 23 assists (tied for first on the team) for 26 points with a plus-12 rating (tied for second on the team).

The blueliner has played in a total of 176 games with the Providence Bruins 2010-14, accumulating 11 goals and 63 assists for 74 points.  In 12 AHL playoff appearances in 2013 with the P-Bruins, the blueliner tallied three assists.

Prior to joining Providence, Warsofsky skated three seasons (2008-11) with the Boston University Terriers, where he appeared in 113 games, notching 22-46=68 totals.

The 5'9'', 170-pound native of Marshfield, MA was drafted in the fourth round (95th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues. The Bruins acquired Warsofsky in exchange for Vladimir Sobotka on June 26, 2010.
