STARTING GOALTENDERS: Svedberg (0-0-0, 0.00 GAA, .000 Save %) vs. Mazanec (7-8-1, 2.76 GAA, .907 Save %). This is Svedberg’s first career NHL regular season appearance. Mazanec is 0-1-0 with a 4.44 GAA and .862 save % in one career game against Boston.

BRUINS VS PREDATORS LIFETIME: The Bruins and Predators will meet for the 19th time tonight with the B’s holding a 10-4-1-3 record and a 51-42 scoring edge in those games. The Black & Gold are 5-2-1-0 in their eight lifetime meetings against the Predators in Boston, with a scoring advantage of 24-15 in those contests. The Bruins have taken points out of their last six games against the Predators at 4-0-2, including a 6-2 victory in Nashville on December 23 in the first game of this season’s series.

SVEDBERG RECALLED: B's General Managers Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club had recalled goaltender Niklas Svedberg from Providence (American Hockey League). Svedberg has appeared in 22 games for the Providence Bruins this season, racking up a 13-5-3 record with a 2.87 goals against average, .909 save percentage and one shutout. The 24-year-old netminder has played in a total of 70 games for Providence since joining the team in 2012, earning a career 50-13-5 AHL record. STREAKING: The B’s line composed of Jarome Iginla, David Krejci and Milan Lucic all enter tonight riding five-game point streaks, combining for eight goals and nine assists during than span. During that streak, Iginla has accumulated 4-2=6 totals, Krejci has contributed 3-3=6 totals and Lucic has tallied 1-4=5 totals. Patrice Bergeron also carries a point streak into this evening, notching one goal and three assists over his last three games.

187 AND COUNTING: Following Tuesday’s game against the New York Islanders, the Boston Bruins have sold out 187 straight regular season and playoff games. This sellout streak began more than three years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).

PREDATORS NOTEBOOK: Tonight is game one of a three-game road stretch for the Predators, which will see them take on the Florida Panthers on January 4 and the Carolina Hurricanes on January 5… Ten of Nashville’s last 24 goals have come on the man-advantage, including eight power play tallies in the team’s last nine games… Centerman David Legwand leads Nashville in point production with 25 (6 goals, 19 assists)… Nashville Captain Shea Weber has recorded 10 points in his last 11 games and ranks among the top 20 defenseman in scoring with nine goals and 13 assists.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Bruins power play: 24-for-109 (22.0%, 6th NHL), Bruins penalty kill: 112-for-132 (84.8%, 6th NHL)… Predators power play: 27-for-129 (20.9%, 8th NHL), Predators penalty kill: 104-for-128 (81.3%, 17th NHL).
