STATS YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING…

TUUKKA TIME: Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask enters the weekend leading the league in save percentage (.948) and ranks second in the NHL in goals against average (1.52). Rask, who is 4-0-1 in his last five starts, has allowed two or fewer goals in 12 out of 15 games played this season.

BRUINS PK STREAKING: The Bruins went four-for-four on the penalty kill on November 14 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, extending their streak to 26 consecutive kills, after allowing five straight power play goals from October 26 to 30.  The Black & Gold are now 50-for-58 (86.2%) on the penalty kill overall, which ranks fifth in the NHL. The Bruins PK unit has also produced two shorthanded goals this season from Patrice Bergeron and Chris Kelly.

HOT BRUINS BREWIN: With an assist on Thursday evening against the Blue Jackets, B’s blueliner Torey Krug extended his career best point-streak to five games, tallying two goals and three assists for five points during that span. Krug’s six goals this season is tied with Ottawa’s Erik Karlsson for the lead league among NHL defensemen.  The d-man’s three power play goals and six power play points lead all NHL rookies (3 power play goals is tied for first). Loui Eriksson also kept his point streak alive against Columbus with his first period goal, giving him 1-3=4 totals over the course of his last four games. Eriksson’s linemate, Patrice Bergeron, has been hot as of late, riding his own point streak, recording three goals and one assist for four points during that span.

BERGERON HOT ON THE DOT:
Patrice Bergeron has been characteristically strong in the faceoff circle this season, winning draws at a 58.5% rate (210/359), which ranks fifth in the NHL. Since 2011-13, Bergeron has earned a faceoff proficiency of 60.1% which leads the NHL over that span. (Chicago’s Jonathan Toews is second over that span at 59.4%)
