B\'s Sign Camper to a One-Year, Two-Way Contract

Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, July 8, that the club has signed forward Carter Camper to one-year, two-way contract through the 2013-14 season.  Camper’s salary is worth $550,000 at the NHL level and $75,000 at the AHL level.

During the 2012-13 season with the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League), Camper appeared in 57 games, notching 10 goals (tied for seventh on the team) and 37 assists (second on the team) for 47 points (second on the team). The forward tallied six penalty minutes and ended the regular season with a plus-two rating.

The forward has skated 129 career AHL games – all with Providence – and has recorded 29 goals and 68 helpers for 97 points with 26 penalty minutes.

Camper played in 12 games during the 2012-13 AHL playoffs where he registered eight goals, which was the highest on the team for the P-Bruins, while his five assists ranked third.  His 13 playoff points led the Providence squad (tied for eighth in the AHL).

Camper skated in three NHL games with the Bruins in 2010-11 and recorded one goal.

The Miami University (Ohio) graduate played four seasons for the RedHawks from 2007-11. During his collegiate career, the 5’9”, 173-pound forward skated in 156 games and found the back of the net 69 times, ranking in the top three goal scorers for the RedHawks all four years. The Rocky River, Ohio native also tacked on 114 assists, giving him 183 total points for the entirety of his NCAA career. From 2004-2006, Camper played in 111 games for the Cleveland Barons of the North American Hockey League where he totaled 119 points (45-74).

The Boston Bruins signed Camper as a free agent on April 7, 2011 to an entry-level contract.
