Bruins Acquire Rob Flick from CHI for Max Sauve

1:01 p.m.
- The start of Trade Deadline Day saw crickets in the early morning until we hit past noon, but on the inside of course, the 30 NHL general managers, including B's GM Peter Chiarelli, were sure to be working the phones as hard as ever.

As such, the Bruins confirm that they have acquired forward Rob Flick from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Max Sauve.

A few notes on Flick....

The center has skated in 51 games with the AHL's Rockford IceHogs this season and has registered three goals and two assists with 97 penalty minutes (ranks 5th on the team). The 22-year old has appeared in 96 AHL games, tallying 10 goals and 8 assists with 188 penality minutes during that span.

Prior to joining the Rockford IceHogs, Flick spent three seasons (2008-2010) with the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors in the OHL where he skated in 181 games and notched 46 goals and 53 assists. Flick also played in 17 games with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye in 2012, where he potted four goals and six assists with 43 penalty minutes. The forward racked up 393 penalty minutes with Mississauga and led the team in 2010 and 2011 with 157 and 167 penalty minutes, respectively. In 46 playoff OHL playoff games with Mississauga, Flick earned 11 goals and 11 assists for 16 points, while accumulating 92 penalty minutes.

The 6'2", 208-pound native of London, Ontario was drafted in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.

With the deal, the B's send Sauve to the 'Hawks. In total, Sauve has appeared in 158 games with the P-Bruins and has registered 44 goals and 45 assists. The forward skated in one NHL game with Boston.
