Thursday marked the first time he had played since being attended to on the ice during last Sunday's game in Pittsburgh, after taking a puck in front of the net late in the third period.

"I felt good in the morning, but I was hoping after my nap that I would feel even better, so it was really a game-time decision," Krejci said on getting into the lineup against Ottawa.

"I was ready, and after warm-ups, the trainers did a good job before, they got me ready. I guess you can say that I felt that I could help the team, contribute, or whatever it takes to win. That was why I made the decision."

Welcome news for the center, though he's still working to get back to 100 percent.

"It's obviously still sore, this kind of injury is going to be sore for a little bit. It's getting better every day, so, like I said, I felt good after warmups, so I felt like I could help the team."

"It was tough," he added. "I haven't skated for three days, couldn't really work out, couldn't put pressure on it. Like I said, I felt that I could help the team."

Krejci certainly did his part, logging 19:39 of ice time, behind only the line of Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and Tyler Seguin, and firing three shots on goal, along with registering a hit, three blocked shots, and a takeaway.

And though he didn't find the back of the net being back in the lineup, Krejci was happy to see his team pull out the two points, especially on Dennis Seidenberg's first goal of the season, with 1:04 left in the third.

"In the third period, when the hockey game is tied, I wish one of them would go in," Krejci said of his chances, as he and the Bruins battled through en route to the slight victory.

"But we got the win. I was really excited, I was even more excited for Seides to get his first of the year. Good for him, he's got a monkey off his back now."

"I'm really happy for him, happy that we won."
