STATS YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING…

TUUKKA TIME: Tuukka Rask extended his point streak to a career-best eight games at 7-0-1 with the 2-1 OT win against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night. During those eight games he has a 1.36 goals against average. Rask is currently tied for the league lead in wins (11) and ranks fourth in the NHL in GAA (1.82) and fifth in save percentage (.933).

PLUS/MINUS: Tyler Seguin is currently tied for second in the NHL with a +13 rating. The Bruins have finished atop the league's plus/minus rankings in three of the previous four seasons (Patrice Bergeron, +36 in 2011-12; Zdeno Chara, +33 in 2010-11; and David Krejci, +37 in 2008-09).

HOT BRUINS: Over the last four games, Patrice Bergeron has tallied two goals and five assists, good for seven points. Also hot are Nathan Horton, who has recorded 3-1=4 totals in the last four games, and linemate Milan Lucic who has earned 1-2=3 totals in three straight games.

GET AHEAD, STAY AHEAD: The Bruins now have a 9-0-0 mark this season when scoring the first goal of the game. The Bruins are now 13-2-2 for 28 points in their first 17 games of this season, which is the best 17-game start in team history since they opened the 1929-30 campaign at 15-2-0 (30 points).

PENALTY KILL STREAK ENDS: The Bruins penalty kill streak reached 27 before ending on Thursday night vs. Ottawa, which is the first time the penalty kill streak has lasted that long since the Bruins of 2009 killed off 26 consecutive from Nov. 3 – 19. The B’s fell one penalty kill shy of their longest stretch since 2007 of 28 kills, which went from March 1 – 11. The B’s still lead the NHL with a 93.9% penalty kill success rate, which is 4.6% ahead of the undefeated Chicago Blackhawks.

BOSTON MEDIA TWEET OF THE WEEK (TOTW)

The Boston media “Tweet of the Week” is in its seventh week of the 2012-13 season. Taking home TOTW honors this week, and joining Fluto Shinzawa atop the leader board, is Jesse Connolly of the New England Hockey Journal with his recognition to those attempting to spell a few names of Ottawa Senators via Twitter rapidly:

@JesseNEHJ: “To all you speed tweeters, high five if you can go all night without spelling Silfverberg, Zibanejad, Dziurzynski or Wiercioch wrong once.”

Here are this week’s honorable mentions, in no particular order:

@_TyAnderson: “For those at home, Dougie Hamilton is now just 906 points away from tying Bobby Orr’s career total. Not sure he gets there tonight.”
@HackswithHaggs: “Marty Reasoner is still looking for his skates on the BC campus somewhere after Milan Lucic faked him out of them. Pass to Krejci for score”
