The event is closed the public and only invited guests may attend.

Green Hammond will get the opportunity to drop the ceremonial first puck at center ice.

BRUINS PARTICIPATE IN HOCKEY WEEKEND ACROSS AMERICA: The Boston Bruins are participating in Hockey Weekend Across America February 15-17, to help celebrate the game of hockey and the opportunities the weekend provides for those who never played the game. The Boston Bruins will be supporting this initiative at a variety of activities in the area, including Try Hockey for Free events on Saturday, February 16, which allow children ages 4-9 to try the sport free of charge. For more information, please refer to the below “Around Town…” section of the Week Ahead.

UPCOMING PRACTICE SCHEDULE: The Bruins upcoming practice schedule for February 16 - 22 can be found at the end of the Week Ahead.

STATS YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING…

DOUGIE GETS HIS FIRST: In the Bruins’ 4-2 loss to the Sabres on Friday night, defenseman Dougie Hamilton scored his first career NHL goal. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Hamilton is the first Bruins defenseman to score a goal at the age of 19 since Jonathan Girard on November 13, 1999. The 19-year-old now has six points (1-5=6) through his first 12 NHL games.

THIRD-PERIOD COMEBACK: The last time the Bruins overcame a three-goal third period deficit to earn a point was actually not too long ago, during the 2011 Cup season. On November 20, 2010, the Boston came back in the third to tie it 3-3, before the LA Kings won in the shootout. Before the Bruins’ two third-period goals scored with an extra attacker on Tuesday night in the 4-3 shootout loss to the New York Rangers, the last time they had scored twice with their goaltender pulled was on October 24, 2009, coming from a 3-1 deficit to earn a 4-3 shootout win over Ottawa.

THREE GOALS VS RANGERS: According to Elias Sports Bureau, the Bruins have not scored more than three goals in any of their last 32 games against the Rangers (shootout deciding “goals” excluded). It marks the second longest streak of its kind versus one team in Bruins history. It is also the longest streak of consecutive games holding a particular opponent to three or fewer goals in Rangers history.

FORMER B’S LEADING TEAMS: The Columbus Blue Jackets recently named former Bruin Jarmo Kekalainen as their General Manager. Kekalainen suited up for the Black & Gold in 27 NHL games from 1989-91. Two other current NHL general managers have both played in the spoked-B, including New York Rangers’ Glen Sather (1967-69) and Vancouver Canucks’ Mike Gillis (1980-84).

UPCOMING GAMES…

After facing the Sabres in the third of five season meetings Friday night in Buffalo, the Bruins will conclude their first multi-game road trip of the season by traveling to Winnipeg to face off against the Jets at the MTS Centre on Sunday, February 17 at 5:00 p.m. local/6:00 p.m. ET. The B’s will then return home, before heading on a three-game road trip, first traveling to Tampa Bay to take on the Lightning at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Thursday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

BROADCAST SCHEDULE: Jack Edwards, Andy Brickley and Naoko Funayama will cover both of this week’s games on NESN, with coverage for Thursday’s game against the Lightning also on the NHL Network. The tandem of Dave Goucher and Bob Beers will handle all radio duties on 98.5 The Sports Hub. Start times for the upcoming games are as follows:

2/17 at Winnipeg Jets, 5:00 p.m. local/6:00 p.m. ET – NESN

2/21 at Tampa Bay Lightning, 7:30 p.m. ET – NESN, NHL Network

135 AND COUNTING: Following the home game on Tuesday, February 12 at the TD Garden against the New York Rangers, the Bruins have sold out their last 135 home games, including regular season and playoffs. This sellout streak began more than three years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).
