Ference: You can't have off games in the playoffs
BostonBruins.com – When Boston Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference last addressed the media he compared this season to the team's 2010-11 victory.

He pointed to similarities between their first-round series against the Washington Capitals and the Montreal Canadiens – both of which were decided by one goal in overtime in Game 7.
"We all know how tight playoffs are," he said. "It's the same thing as the first round last year – the difference of that final goal to move on from Montreal."
However, the two series resulted in dramatically different outcomes. Last season, the B's overtime goal and win against Montreal sparked the team's Stanley Cup run.
This year it was the Bruins that fell short, while the Capitals continued on their Stanley Cup quest.
"That last goal is obviously the big difference, and the thing that makes this year disappointing and last year not," Ference said.
The defenseman regrets not learning more from last season.
"The thing that's disappointing about this year, is that we should've learned lessons from that Montreal series," he said. "You can't have off games, and you can't let games slip by your hands."
Regardless, Ference believes the team has what it takes to try again.
"You work with what you've got, and we had enough to work with to do what we did last year," he said. "The team's relatively the same and more experienced."
This playoff experience will serve them well in the future.
"Everybody has to pull their weight on any team," Ference said. "Anybody's got the tools to do it. It's just a matter of everybody playing at their potential."
