Simple Solutions for Game 3
WASHINGTON, DC -- For defenseman Zdeno Chara it's academic.

The B's lost Game 2 and to the All-Star defenseman, the solution is simple.

"We’ve just got to be more committed to certain areas in our game," said Chara after Monday morning's skate. "Once we do that it’s going to be [a] much better feel on the ice, I think.

"We’ve just got to be a little bit better and more committed."

It's a fair assessment -- the B's fell to the caps 2-1 in double OT and poured 44 shots on Washington goaltender Braden Holtby -- it wasn't as if the club played poorly on Saturday.

As such, Chara said the B's are far from pushing the panic button.

"We all know it’s the playoffs," said the blueliner. "You aren’t going to go through it really easily, there’s going to be some losses.

"We’ve just got to put those behind and regroup on the days between and get ready for game days."

And during those two games in Washington, Chara is steadfast in his belief that just a couple changes will put the B's over the top - that an a little more elbow grease.

"I think that you do make small adjustments as the series goes," said Chara. "But overall I think that you try to really make as small changes as you can, but more about being in the right position, working hard, winning those battles.

"That’s what it comes down to; every game, winning battles and races."

But quality scoring opportunities will help, too. Thus far the B's, who have scored just twice in two games, haven't had many good looks versus Washington.

"Well, I think it's one thing to just put shots on the net, but the other thing is to have quality shots, shots with traffic," he said. "Create more.

"It’s one of those things that we need to be better at."
