BOSTON, MA -- It was simply an accident.

After Thursday night's Game 1, as Boston's David Krejci and his teammates celebrated Chris Kelly's overtime game-winner over the Washington Capitals, a pane of glass separated from the TD Garden's boards and landed on the B's center.

"I guess fans...kind of got carried away from the Kells goal and it just happened," said Krejci. "The glass fell."

Asked to further recount the incident, Krejci, who missed Friday's practice, instead wanted to put the accident behind him.

"I looked what happened," said Krejci. "I didn’t expect that, so I looked at what happened, got up and skated away and that’s it."

Krejci then pronounced himself ready to play on saturday.

"I got a little sore neck but other than that I’m good and I’ll play tomorrow," he said.

The center's head coach agreed.

"He’s fine," said Claude Julien. "He was a little bit stiff around the neck area this morning. He was scheduled to skate and I talked to the trainer and together we came to terms that it was better if he stayed off [and] feel even better tomorrow.

"It was not that hard of a skate today, so we kept him off," added Julien. "He was scheduled to go on and he’s scheduled to play tomorrow.

"So, again, it really is not that big of an issue."

Asked again about the frightening moment, Julien called it a fluke.

"We’re kind of fortunate that it wasn’t worse than what it is," he said. "Again, with the weight of that glass it could have been a lot worse.

"But like I said, he’s fine and we probably dodged a bullet there."
