Julien: We\'ve found our game again
false
BostonBruins.com – When the Bruins took a two-goal lead in the third period last night against the New York Islanders, it appeared as if the B’s were cruising to an easy win.

But the Islanders made it a one-goal game soon after, and the Bruins resiliency was tested as they battled back for a 6-3 victory.

“We got a two-goal lead and then we gave another one back, but instead of sitting on that one goal lead we went back after them again and found a way to score a few more,” Bruins Head Coach Claude Julien. “So that was good, and I liked the way our guys responded.”

The four-goal third period performance from Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, Tyler Seguin and David Krejci wiped out the comeback effort from the Islanders, but Julien didn’t shy away from giving credit to New York.

“This team that we played today is a young team, but a very good team offensively, a very potent team and they proved it again,” Julien said. “They had some good chances, and they can make things happen and I’m sure with a little more experience, they’re going to be one of the better teams in the league. I think we came into this game with a lot of respect for them that way – they beat Pittsburgh back-to-back games and it certainly wasn’t a fluke.”

Today, the Bruins will be tested by another New York team, but one that is more experienced and leads the Eastern Conference.

The Rangers (50-21-7, 107 points) have given the Bruins trouble all season and beaten them in the first three games thus far.

But the B’s are playing some of the best hockey they’ve played since snapping out of their midseason slump, and a victory over the Rangers means they clinch the Northeast division.

“We went through a lull there when we didn’t play with lots of energy, and we didn’t focus that well on our game plan so it made it hard for us to win hockey games,” Julien said. “But I think our guys are back on track now for probably a couple of weeks, and focusing more on what we need to do and push each other to do it well. And because of that, we’ve found our game again.”
