BOSTON, MA – On Wednesday, March 28, Bruins forward Shawn Thornton and members of the Boston Bruins are teaming up with 98.5 The Sports Hub to host the fifth annual “Cuts for a Cause” to benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center.
The event will take place from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. at Royale (279 Tremont, Boston, MA 02116). Thornton and his teammates will have their heads shaved by auction winners on stage to show their support and raise money for children battling cancer.
This year, fans can choose between two ticket options: VIP or General Admission. The $75 VIP ticket guarantees fans early entry to the event, a separate viewing area and the opportunity to interact with the players in the VIP section. The $25 general admission ticket includes entrance into the event and raffle tickets to win autographed Boston Bruins memorabilia. Ticket prices include processing fees.
Tickets to the event can be purchased by visiting www.bostonbruins.com/cutsforacause beginning Tuesday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. Depending on availability, $30 tickets will be available at the door the day of the event. Door tickets must be paid in cash.
Fans can support the event, which will be hosted by Fred "Toucher" Toettcher and Rich Shertenlieb of the Toucher & Rich show on 98.5 The Sports Hub, by purchasing a ticket to the event or by bidding on the opportunity to shave one of the Bruins player’s heads. The bidding will begin on Monday, March 19 and details will be released at a later date.
All of the money raised at the event will be donated through the Boston Bruins Foundation and will benefit Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center’s “Child Life Services Activities”, “Shooting Stars” and “Very Important Brothers and Sisters” programs.
