BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled forward Max Sauve from the Providence Bruins on an emergency basis (American Hockey League) and has assigned goalie Michael Hutchinson to the Providence Bruins. Sauve is expected to join the team on Thursday for their 10:30 a.m. Morning Skate at the TD Garden, and be available for their 7:00 p.m. home game against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.

Prior to playing in Providence, Sauve played three full seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2006-2009, splitting his time between the Quebec Remparts and Val d’Or Foreurs. He split the 2009-10 season between Val d’Or Foreurs and Providence.

Sauve was originally drafted by the Bruins in the second round (47th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Hutchinson was recalled on March 3rd and joined the Bruins on their two day road trip in New York and Toronto and served as the team’s backup goalie. In 18 appearances with Providence this season, Hutchinson is 6-11-0 with a 2.62 goals-against-average (GAA) and a .920 save percentage.
