Bodnarchuk & Sauve Recalled from AHL
BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk and forward Max Sauve from the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League). Bodnarchuk and Sauve are expected to join the Bruins for their 10:30 a.m. practice on Monday at Ristuccia Arena in Wilmington.

This is Bodnarchuk’s second recall to Boston this season. He was first recalled on February 13th and joined the team on their 11 day road trip, beginning with an away game in Montreal on February 15th, although he did not see any game action. This marks Sauve’s first NHL career recall.

Bodnarchuk has skated in 47 games for Providence this year with four goals and seven assists, giving him 11 overall points. In the 2009-2010 season, Bondarchuk was recalled to Boston on one occasion. He appeared in five games with the team, including his first NHL game on April 3, 2010 at Toronto.

In Providence this season, Sauve has six goals and seven assists in 26 games. He is currently on a four game point streak with the P-Bruins, tallying three goals and one assist in his last four games since February 19th. He played his first full pro season with Providence in the 2010-11 season, ranking second on the team in goals (21) and third overall in the club’s scoring race with 21-17=38 totals.

Bodnarchuk was drafted by the Bruins in the fifth round (128th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Sauve was drafted by Boston in the second round (47th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Goalie Adam Courchaine has been recalled to the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League) from the Alaska Aces (ECHL). In 34 games with Alaska so far this season, he is 19-10-5 with a 2.37 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage. He has recorded three shutouts this year.

The 2011-2012 Boston Bruins season is presented by the Massachusetts State Lottery.
