BOSTON, MA – The NHL announced today that Tim Thomas has been named the NHL’s First Star of the Month of November. Jonathan Towes of Chicago was named the Second Star while Toronto’s Joffrey Lupul was named the Third Star. Thomas completed a perfect November going 9-0-0 in the month with three shutouts, a 1.76 Goals Against Average and a .941 Save Percentage. He posted back-to-back shutouts on November 19 against New York Islanders and November 21 against Montreal and compiled an overall shutout streak of 145:00 during the month. He became only the second goaltender in team history to record three straight road shutouts (his road shutout streak was 234:12).
The nine-game win streak is a career long.
The Boston Bruins Foundation will make a $1,000 donation to the children’s charity of Thomas’ choice.
The 2011-2012 Boston Bruins season is presented by the Massachusetts State Lottery.
