B's Assign Jordan Caron to Providence

BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned forward Jordan Caron to the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League).

Caron has appeared in 23 NHL games this season for the Bruins, averaging 12:40 of ice time with 3-4=7 totals. Caron made his NHL debut on October 9, 2010 against the Phoenix Coyotes in Prague, and scored his first NHL goal on October 30th against the Ottawa Senators.

The 20-year-old native of Sayabec, Quebec, has appeared in 27 AHL games for the P-Bruins this season, with 6-11=17 totals.

He was originally selected by the Bruins in the first round (25th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, and this has been his first professional season. He played four seasons of junior hockey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Rimouski and Rouyn-Noranda with 100-103=203 totals and 173 penalty minutes in 204 career junior games. He also won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2010 World Junior Championships.
