B\'s Look for Same Effort Versus Buffalo
BUFFALO -- There's no morning skate for the Bruins and that is certainly owed to the club's performance during the current road trip and the effort put forward at practice yesterday in suburban Atlanta.

Julien
"Yeah, I like the spirit that the guys are in right now," said Boston Bruins Head Coach Claude Julien before boarding the team bus to the airport in Georgia on Friday.

"I liked their work in practice today...[and] I think they skated well and they’re focused I think they’re determined to keep going here.

"I like the atmosphere around the team right now I think they’ve got some of their swagger back," he said.

Despite dropping a 3-2 decision to the Thrashers in a shootout on Thursday, Julien remained confident in his Bruins, but hopes that they find the net a little more often when they take the ice tonight in Buffalo's HSBC Arena.

"Unfortunately, we ran in to a hot goaltender and, at the same time, you know you have to find a way to bury some of those chances," said Julien. "We tried to work a little bit on that today...[but] If we can carry that momentum into next game we’ll have a good chance to win."

Those sentiments carried throughout the B's locker room in Duluth, Georgia's IceForum.

"Yeah I think we put forth the effort," said center Marc Savard. "If we do that the rest of the road trip we’re gonna get some more wins, so we were happy with our effort."

"These next two games are important ones," added defenseman Johnny Boychuk. "We want to get as many points as we can on this road trip and we just want to focus on our game...and come prepared, we [can] come out with a win or least get one point."

"It was a really good game," added defenseman Andrew Ference. "I mean, I think it's one of the things we talk about when you’re a good team, is that you know you can’t go through a whole season and get good breaks all the time in every game, and you know you’re going to lose some.

"But you can still feel proud of...your game after a loss if you play a certain style and play the game well. Sometimes the other team is just going to be a little better and get better bounces or just win or whatever.

"But we can be proud of our game [in Atlanta] and you know there’s way more positives than negatives,' he said.

Going forward, and with Saturdays game with Buffalo and Monday's game in Toronto firmly in mind, the B's know that if they put in the same effort they displayed in Atlanta, points will continue to come their way.

"We just know that if we play the way we did [versus Atlanta], then we’re gonna win several games," said Boychuk. "And you know we did have a lot of scoring chances, we've just got to...find a way to score them against a hot goalie and you know we will."

"Right now I think we’re focused on just ourselves and what’s going on with our team," said Ference when asked about tonight's tilt with the Sabre.

"At this point in the season it’s a divisional game and all these points are very important to us...for this road swing, so I don’t see any more importance being put on tomorrow’s as opposed to the last three."

"Obviously, [we're] not happy with the final result,"  said Savard. "But, you know, if the guys keep working like we did today in practice you know, we should find [some wins]."
