Injury Update
BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins didn't hold an optional skate this morning and only Marco Sturm and Johnny Boychuk took the ice.

Will Boychuk skate tonight?
Boychuk remains a game-time decision for Thursday's game versus the Florida Panthers.

"Same thing as last night," said Julien who talked about Boychuk's lack of practices with contact. "I think it’s about limitations.

"He went on the ice again this morning and he went through the things that we were concerned about. I think it’s more about that than anything. At one point, he’s going to have those kinks out, but right now our schedule is not, I guess, helping us out with so many games and you’re preferring to give your team...some rest in order to give yourself the best possible chances of winning a hockey game.

"So if we wait for the right opportunity to give him a practice we might be waiting even longer," he said.

And the B's back-to-back games might figure into Boychuk's timetable.

"I think there’s some truth to that, which we've thought about," said Julien. "But at the same time, it was more about the player himself and is he ready.

"It’s amazing how day-to-day with that new cast and adjusting his glove and everything else, makes a difference.

"So, we just want to make sure that his limitations don’t outweigh the fact that we can have another healthy player in the lineup, or healthier player in the lineup."

Julien also talked about Sturm.

"I think you guys talked to him a few days ago and I think we see him progressing and he sees himself getting better," said Julien. "How close he is -- nobody seems to know.

"I think it’s a matter of, a lot like concussions and stuff like that, he’s got to be 100 percent because he’s been out that long.

"When you’ve been out for six months, you don’t come back until you’re 100 percent and we don’t know when that’s going to happen," said the coach.

The B's coach was asked why centers David Krejci and Marc Savard did not skate this morning.

Julien said Krejci was day-to-day.

"We gave him the day off the ice today and again, hopefully, he’ll skate with our team again tomorrow," said Krejci. "There’s been no setbacks in his case.

"Like I said, [he's] another guy where you’ve got to wait until he’s 100 percent. Concussions are serious injuries that you have to respect the healing time.

And Savard?

"Savvy was off today. [Krejci and Savard] are both going to be on the ice [on Friday], but sometimes those guys skate so much, they need a recovery day," said Julien.

As for the rest of his club, Julien doesn't think fatigue will play a part tonight. Last week, Montreal was waiting in the Garden in Boston as the B's returned from the road for their game on Thursday. This time, however, it's an equal battle. The Panthers played in Atlanta last night while the B's were in New York.

"I think the fact that Florida played last night...puts us basically on an even playing field," he said. "Last time, you had Montreal waiting for us here. They were fresh, so hopefully it balances out and hopefully we have better legs tonight than we did at this time last week."
