Julien Talks Exhibition Hockey
Boston, MA -- As of Tuesday afternoon, Boston Bruins Head Coach Claude Julien hadn't announced a lineup for Wednesday night in Montreal.

"We’re probably not going to bring everybody," said Julien. "As far as whether we’re going to make cuts or not, I think upper management will handle that part of it, but the one thing that we are doing is bring enough guys to play both games, meaning we’re hoping to finalize our roster here by the end of the day and having two teams to go on this trip.

"We think we have enough players here to be able to make basically, Team A, Team B, for those two games, so having said that, we’ve got 50-some players, so there’s some extra ones."

Veteran goalie Tim Thomas did not practice today, and Coach Julien wasn't sure if he would be in for the contest in Montreal or Rochester.

"He could, but he might be held out a little bit and it could be more like Saturday instead of these first two games," said Julien. "More than likely, that would probably be the earliest that you’d see Timmy playing."

Recovering from offseason surgery, Thomas' absence today was precautionary.

"I think he’s going to practice with us tomorrow," said Julien. "He’s going to be on the road trip with us so that is no more than...giving him a little bit of rest in between some hard workouts because, again, that’s the only way he can heal properly."

Julien was asked if he thought any of his players would appear in both games.

"We’re going to try not to [have that happen]," he said. "I think at this point, it’s probably two different teams, so that’s what we’re trying to do right now, is make those rosters so we have guys just playing one of the two games."

Coach Julien was asked if he would expose Tyler Seguin to the bright lights in the Bell Centre.

"That’s a way to find out whether he’s in or not," joked Julien. "I know you’re comparing the Montreal Bell Centre to Rochester and it’s a totally different situation, but yes there is something to be said about...playing in those situations and understanding what it does for you as an individual.

"Anybody who’s played at the Bell Center or any of those rinks for the first time, they’ll tell you they get shivers going on the ice and stuff like that, so there is a special feeling in some of those rinks and that’s maybe something we’ll look at when we decide on our roster.

"We’ll weigh that in."
