Swing Like Happy Gilmore on Sept. 1

Bruins to host "Swing Like Happy Gilmore Long Drive Contest" to benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation.

BOSTON, MA - On Tuesday, September 1, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. fans are invited to join Boston Bruins Milan Lucic and Tim Thomas in the Boston Bruins Foundation's "Swing Like Happy Gilmore Long Drive Contest" at Golf Country in Middleton, MA (160 South Main Street, Middleton, MA 01949). All proceeds from the event will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation. Lucic and Thomas will serve as the celebrity judges in the contest.

A ten dollar donation to the Boston Bruins Foundation will allow fans of all ages three attempts to hit their ball as far as possible using a swing like the movie character "Happy Gilmore". The fan who hits the longest drive will receive two tickets to the Boston Bruins Foundation’s 6th annual Golf Tournament dinner where they will meet and dine with the Bruins players, coaches and executives who played in the afternoon’s tournament as well as an autographed Lucic jersey. The second place winner will receive a Boston Bruins hockey stick putter signed by Lucic and Thomas.

In addition to the long drive contest, the Boston Bruins Foundation will hold a raffle during the long drive contest where fans can win autographed Bruins memorabilia. The clubs and golf balls used in the contest will be provided to all participants courtesy of Golf Country.

The Boston Bruins Foundation's 6th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at The International in Bolton, MA (The International, 159 Ballville Road, Bolton, MA 01740). All of the proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and the Boston Bruins Alumni Association. Participation and support will help make it possible for both foundations to assist various children’s charitable organizations.
