The Hub of Hockey  is ready to roll...
Lucic
"It's been a little bit of an anxious feeling," said Milan Lucic of the wait between Montreal and Carolina. "You want to get back to that fun playoff type hockey.

"It's been a fun ride so far, obviously, so we want get things going and we want to get that feeling back in the room. We're just excited to play again."

There would be no arguments from Coach Julien, either.

"“It’s about time,” said Julien.  “There’s some new life in our room, and excitement, which is what you want.”

“We had a chance to kind of put our guard down for a few days and rest, and then get our energy level back to where we want it to be...but now it’s time to do our job.”

Andrew Ference Update
Ference
"We're going to make a...gameday decision," said Claude Julien when questioned about Andrew Ference. "There's no reason to say yay or nay now, we'll give him another day.

"We want him to come in at 100% - nothing less.

"[But] he seems pretty good, so if he's 100% tomorrow he's going to be in," he said.

A full house...
It looks like everyone who should be on the ice, is on the ice, this morning at Ristuccia.

Recchi
Hoots and hollers are filling Ristuccia Arena this morning and with just one more day before the B's take on the Carolina Hurricanes, the B's rising intensity level has an audible sound.

Yesterday, after practice, Mark Recchi spoke about returning to Carolina and battling friends for a chance at a Stanley Cup.

“It’s not easy," said Recchi of facing former teammates. "I’ve got some great friends over there, and when you go through something like that and now have to face them, it’s going to be tough, but at the same time, we all know we have a job to do.

"It's been a great year, and we’re just excited to get going.  There’s some good memories there, but hopefully I can make some good ones here," he said.

Thankfully, the B's wait has come to an end -- it seems like eons since the Black & Gold faced and defeated Montreal in the first round.

"We need to play like we play every other day and just keep it rolling," said Recchi. "But the rest has been good for us in the long run, and we have to make sure that we find our legs quickly."

Cam Ward, Carolina's starting goaltender, was one of the big reasons the Hurricanes took out the Devils. And, having followed his career from its beginnings, Recchi knows that the B's will have to be sharp to best the 'Canes young netminder.

“He's extremely composed and very well positioned," said Recchi. "He plays very very intelligently for a young goalie...he knows how to play the game properly.  He’s always square to the puck.

"He’s got great work ethic, and what people don’t realize is, he’s still a young kid.  I mean, he won the cup when he was 21 years old, or 22 years old.

"[Ward's] a wonderful kid and a wonderful goalie, and he’s going to be a big challenge for us," he said.
