Okay, I am back in the BishCave after a beautiful drive home from Wilmington to Central Mass on what might be the nicest day these eyes have seen in a long time.

The day was made even better by the reemergence of Andrew Ference.

"It was nice for me to get back on with the other players again," said a smiling Ference post practice. "I was just taking and receiving passes and trying to get into the flow of it.

"It wasn't 100% speed, because we [could] have a whole week to do it properly and make sure that I am ready for the next game.

"It's great and it was nice to be back," he said.

Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien was pleased, as well.

"He's coming along," said Julien. "As I mentioned yesterday, I think he is very close to coming in and having a full practice with us.

"Today, he did almost everything and...I predict that if everything keeps going well, he should be ready for the next round."

There are a ton of people inside Ristuccia Arena to watch the B's practice -- and on the most beautiful day of the year, to boot.

Ference returns...
Andrew Ference is on the ice this morning at Ristuccia. The only faces that are missing are Tim Thomas and Patrice Bergeron.

The playoffs are an intense time of the year, but for new and veteran members of the B’s squad, they are also a fun time to play.

“In my experience, every year playoffs are fun to play,” defenseman Shane Hnidy said.

Hnid had had plenty of wise words to tell the new guys on the line about enjoying the moment before it’s gone.

“I remember talking to Byron Bitz [when we were] coming to play Montreal and saying ‘just enjoy this; this is the reason we play the game, to get to these situations and play playoff hockey,’” he said.

“It brings excitement and that passion for the game,” he said. “I love to be a part of it and it’s a lot of fun.”

Defenseman Steve Montador just joined the Boston team at the Trade Deadline, but even he can’t help but get – no pun intended – swept away in the excitement.

“I've never been on a team that swept before. So that was exciting,” the former Anaheim Duck said. “And then the rivalry [and all of the] matchups together…Obviously, a lot of history. Both buildings are rocking. A lot of fans on both sides.”

Despite being new to the Black & Gold, Montador is in the know when it comes to the history of the Habs-Bruins matchups and is not shy about including himself in the Boston ‘we.’

“On top of that, it was a good series based on what happened last year. It turned around...we're first and they’re eighth this year, and to win in four was a lot of fun. It was exciting.”
