P-Bruins Fall to Pirates; Series Tied
Portland, ME – The Providence Bruins fell to the Portland Pirates 3-2 Sunday afternoon at the Cumberland County Civic Center.  The P-Bruins got their goals from Zach Hamill and T.J. Trevelyan.  The P-Bruins and Pirates are tied in the best-of-seven Atlantic Division Finals 2 game each.  The P-Bruins face the Portland Pirates in Game 5 of the Division Finals Tuesday at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 7:05 p.m.  Game 6 will be at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m.

The P-Bruins took the 1-0 advantage at the 10:50 mark of the opening period, while on the power play.  Bobby Ryan tallied his fourth goal of the playoffs, with Andrew Ebbett and Drew Miller recording the assists.  Portland opened up a 2-0 lead at the 11:42 mark.  The Pirates had a 2-on-1 opportunity and Darryl Bootland netted his first goal of the post-season, while Miller and Andy Schneider picked up the assists.  Providence got on the scoreboard late in the first period to cut the Pirates lead in half.  At the 19:12 mark and on the power play, the puck took a bounce behind the net to Hamill parked along the left goal post.  With Pirates net minder Jean-Sebastien Aubin on the opposite side of the net, Hamill scored his first goal of the post-season, an unassisted goal.  The Pirates went into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead.

In the second period, the P-Bruins tied the game at two at the 14:17 mark.  Petteri Nokelainen sent the puck into the zone for Trevelyan, who worked it out of the corner, skated into the slot and put a shot on net.  Aubin was there to make the save, but Trevelyan grabbed the rebound and shot it into the net for his fourth goal of the post-season.  The game went into the second intermission tied at two.

After a scoreless third period, the Pirates scored the game winning goal in overtime at the 6:30 mark.  Simon Ferguson tallied his first goal of the post-season with Ryan Dingle and Brendan Mikkelson getting the assists.
