The Three Amigos (Bergy, Manny, and I) took to the ice with the team for the first time in months on Thursday morning.
We received the good news just before pregame skate so we were thrilled and skated with the guys for about 30 minutes -- doing skating and shooting drills -- until the squad got off the ice.
With the assistant coaches taking us through new skating and shooting drills, we proceeded to continue with our on ice conditioning for another 30 minutes!
As you might imagine, It's such a change to be on the ice with 25 guys all going in different directions, so it was a bit awkward at first. While skating around at the begging of the practice Bergy and I were joking about how weird it was to be on the ice with so many people. I had to keep looking over my shoulder to make sure I wasn't getting in anyone's way.
It took a few drills to get into the flow, but on the whole I think we all very much enjoyed getting on the ice with the team. Sure, it was a big change to be out there, but it was another positive step on the path to recovery for all of us.
Hopefully we can continue to skate with the team this coming week.
And of course, my report would not be complete without a movie review:

I give it one and a half stars out of five.
I know, I know. I had this one hyped-up to be a great movie and the preview looked awesome, but it just wasn't as good as the preview made it out to be. The story was a little cheesy and the acting wasn't great. It's definitely a rental.
Ill be back soon to give you all another update -- hopefully with some more good news and a positive review.
