Marc has Made his Mark
This Boston Bruins forward is first in the league in assists with 60. And also…

·    eleventh in the league, and first on the Bruins, in points with 74.

·    scored the winning goal for the East in the NHL All Star Game in January.

·    earned the 400th assist of his NHL career on March 1st

·    recorded his 500th NHL point on Oct. 12 in Los Angeles

·    played his 600th NHL game on Nov. 10 vs. Buffalo

He, of course, is Marc Savard and Marc would like to meet you in cyberspace.

On Wednesday, March 5th at 2:00 p.m., Boston's superstar center will headline Rinkside Chats presented by Covidien.

During this exclusive online chat, the Bruins all-star forward will take fans' questions, and talk about his career, the Black & Gold's remaining schedule and the B's playoff possibilities -- and, of course, anything else you want to know.

And if you ask him nicely, he might just tell you one of his patented Wayne Gretzky stories (as he joined The Great One in New York as an NHL rookie).

Boston's sparkplug is excited to participate and interact with the Black & Gold faithful and earlier this season, Marc spoke to BostonBruins.com about the 2007-08 campaign and his hopes for the B's.

"Ever since you were a kid playing street hockey," said Marc, "[winning the Stanley Cup] is something that you always dream about and one day hope comes true…and you want to keep working until it does.

"This year, we have a good situation.

"We have some great goaltending, some good defensemen and a bunch of hardworking forwards, too, that are improving every night.

"Right now, we are in every hockey game…so I am excited to see what happens throughout the rest of the season," he said.   

Savard, who has not played in the NHL playoffs, continues to make that his personal mission and you can see that determination in his play..

"Obviously, making the playoffs is my number one goal," said Savvy. "More than anything, more than the All-Star game, it's to make those playoffs and have the crowd in Boston just roaring.

"It would be an unbelievable feeling…but when we do make it to the playoffs, it's not just getting in that will make me happy. We want to go as far as we can and, hopefully, raise the Stanley Cup," he added.
