Good morning everyone! I hope you are enjoying whatever it is you are doing.
I unfortunately am still fighting off a cold/flu thing. It knocked me flat last night, but I think I am through the worst of it, thank goodness.
Happily, and surely to the chagrin of my wife (The General), in order to ensure a complete recovery I plan to stay on the couch all day compiling updates for the site and generally keeping up with the Toronto contingent.
First off, however, we can take advantage of the New England Hockey Journal Show.
The NEHJ Show (890 ESPN in Boston, 1400AM to northern burbs and NH line, and online at www.hockeyjournal.com) will broadcast live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET with hockey writers Mick Colageo and Matt Kalman in studio and Kevin Paul Dupont reporting from Toronto.
Providence Bruins head coach Scott Gordon will be on at 11:25.The show takes calls and will hold its weekly trivia contest and, as I have said in the past, it is an outstanding way to start your hockey day!
It will be interesting to see what Scott Gordon has to report and usually KPD has some info from the rink to pass on.
The boys should be on the ACC ice around 11:30 and I should be receiving some updates shortly thereafter.
News from from the Toronto contingent: B's forward Glen Murray took the morning off, but was the lone no-show to morning skate from the B's traveling party. Tim Thomas was the first goalie off the ice -- which, of course, generally signals that he will be the starter this evening.
According to Coach Julien, Muzz's absence was just "a maintenance morning."
Aaron Ward is good to go, but reminded the press that Ward's situation was scary.
"Even though he can play tonight, it was still a serious injury," said Coach.
Our Boys are making their way to the rink as we "speak."
TSN.ca is projecting the following lineup for the Leafs:
TSN is also reporting: Robbie Earl was sent back down to the Marlies, while Kyle Wellwood is back in. On defence, Anton Stralman is out and Ian White is back in.
Almost game time. Word from Toronto is that Tim Thomas is the sure starter. I am waiting on the healthy scratches.
NESN's Rob Simpson is reporting that Aaron Ward will play, for sure. As will Chuck Kobasew.
A decent guess:
Stuart-Hnidy Go Bruins!
Ok, off to the Running Recap! JB
