John Bishop is the beat writer for BostonBruins.com. He covers the Black & Gold hoping to offer a positive look at the team, not only from the stands and the press box, but also from inside the locker room. A graduate of Boston U. and Northeastern, 'Bish' grew up in Connecticut and moved to the Hub of Hockey in 1993. Since then he has made all four rinks at the Beanpot schools, as well as both Gardens, his icebound homes away from home. Prior to joining the TD Banknorth Garden staff in 2005, Bishop had written for several publications, with his primary focus being college hockey. He coauthored the book Bygone Boston in 2003 and hopes someday to pen a bio of Hobey Baker.

Glen good to go?
After a difficult practice focused on helping the Bruins overcome their offensive issues, a tired, but seeming healthy and ready Glen Murray spoke with the media.

"It was a pretty hard skate and we'll see how it reacts, tomorrow," said Murray. "Hopefully there is no reaction."

Are you going to play, Glen?

"We're waiting to see how it goes," Murray answered. "I've skated hard for three days, I think.

"And it's been fairly good."

Is he close, Coach?

"Yah, I think so," said Bruins head coach Claude Julien. "It's just a matter of -- probably -- making a decision tomorrow or Saturday."

It's only a matter of time...
A couple of Bruins veterans indicated that it would be only a matter of time before the B's put some points up on the board.

"Usually they come in bunches," said Bruins forward Chuck Kobasew. "If you haven't scored in a while and you get one, a lot of times you will score two.

"It's a confidence thing."

Aaron Ward echoed those sentiments.

"It's usually something [that happens] when you least expect it," he said. "That's when it happens, when the pressure is off and the guys start shooting."

And coach Julien's latest practice plan should go a log way towards that end.

"Today was a constructive day at practice, because we started doing some quick thinking drills," said Ward. "You had to let it go...and give the goalie no opportunity to set and give the defenseman no opportunity to set.

"Now we have to see if that parlays itself into goals tomorrow."
