The Bruins Are Ready to Play Ottawa
Tonight the B’s travel to Ottawa to face the Senators. The powerful, but beat up Senators are leading the Eastern Conference but will not have Daniel Alfredsson or Dany Heatley in the lineup.

Coming off great All-Star appearances by all three B’s representatives and a solid win against Nashville, the Bruins have a lot to be confident about going into a tough game.

Even with this in mind, the Black & Gold are still well aware of what lies ahead.

“They are a confident group over there. They are a great team, leading our division and our conference,” said center Glen Metropolit, who scored two goals against the Predators last Tuesday, passed his 100th career point mark, and has three goals in his last four games.

“They have a lot of highly skilled players,” said defenseman Mark Stuard.  “Whichever line you meet on their team, it’s good.

“We just have to make sure we play them hard every shift.”

While the B’s are winless against the Sens so far this season, they plan on stepping up their game and focusing on the task at hand.

“We can’t take breaks against these guys," emphasized Stuart. "They’ll score if you take a shift off against them.

“We need to play defensively well in our own end, play our system, and the more time we spend down in their end, the better off we are.

"And we need to try to get some offense going as well,” he said.

Combining B’s All-Star goalie Tim Thomas, who played a spectacular game against Nashville on Tuesday, and a solid Bruins defensive game will no doubt help the B’s come out of tonight with two points.

“Every game within our division is important, and it’s going to be a great game,” said Metropolit.  “We haven’t beaten them yet this year, but we are on the back nine now.

“We need to win as many games as we can. We need to look at the teams ahead of us, not the teams below us, and focus on catching them.”

That process starts tonight.
