Bear Essentials Game Day @ Toronto
The Toronto contingent has made me aware of three things:

1.) Alex Auld is going to start.
2.) Brandon Bochenski is going to play.
3.) Aaron Ward is a game time decision.

Says Boston.com's Fluto Shinzawa:

Alex Auld, acquired from Phoenix on Thursday, will make his first start as a Bruin tonight.

On Oct. 9, 2006, while playing for Florida, Auld stopped 47 of 48 shots in the Panthers' 2-1 overtime loss to the Leafs, which was a factor in Claude Julien's decision to go with the 26-year-old tonight.

"You don't want him to wait too long before getting his first start," said Julien. "It's an opportunity for him to step up."

Auld will wear No. 29 along with all his Phoenix-themed gear. The 6-foot-5 Auld said he'd probably go with a simple paint scheme for his new mask.

* Marc Savard will bring a 12-game scoring streak (2-17--19) into tonight.

* Andrew Ference (knee) and Shawn Thornton (foot) skated this morning but will most likely not dress tonight.

Fluto said that he believes that Ward will start. I will keep an eye on this for those of you who do not get NESN or Center Ice.

TSN.ca reports:
Darcy Tucker will play in Saturday's game against the Bruins (shoulder). Vesa Toskala will start in goal for the ninth time in ten games...Newly acquired netminder Alex Auld will get the nod in goal when the Bruins visit the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tuukka Rask will serve as backup. Injured defencemen Andrew Ference (knee) and Aaron Ward (ankle) and forward Shawn Thornton (foot) made the trip with the team. Ference and Ward are game-time decisions, but all three could be available by the time the team arrives in Buffalo for Monday's game against the Sabres.

TSN.ca also reports that the Maple Leafs lineup will look like this:
Ponikarovsky-Sundin-Antropov
Tucker-Wellwood-Blake
Devereaux-Stajan-Steen
Bell-Kilger-Belak
McCabe-Kaberle (sg) Toskala
Gill-White (bg) Raycroft
Wozniewski-Kubina

6:27 p.m.
Fluto is thinking the team will look like this:
Axelsson-Savard-Murray
Sturm-Metropolit-Kobasew
Schaefer-Kessel-Bochenski
Lucic-Nokelainen-Reich
Stuart-Chara (sg) Auld
Alberts-Wideman (bg) Rask
Allen-Ward Go Bruins!

6:36 p.m.
NESN's Rob Simpson says Bobby Allen is out with back spasms and Matt Hunwick is in. Aaron Ward is back, for sure. So that makes the B's look like this:
Axelsson-Savard-Murray
Sturm-Metropolit-Kobasew
Schaefer-Kessel-Bochenski
Lucic-Nokelainen-Reich
Stuart-Chara (sg) Auld
Alberts-Wideman (bg) Rask
Hunwick-Ward Go Bruins!

6:57 p.m.
Not too much from NESN or the Toronto contingent. You are up to date and ready for the game.

See you in the Rolling Recap...
