Charlie Jacobs, Tom Werner and John Henry at the Children's Hospital Auction. (Babineau)
Perhaps North Station is the official last stop for the Rolling Rally?
Tonight, as the Bruins get ready to take on the Buffalo Sabres, their cross-town cousins, the World Series Champion Boston Red Sox will import a bit of magic into the TD Banknorth Garden by hopping the Green Line and delivering the World Series Trophy to center ice.
Sox owners John Henry and Tom Werner will be bringing their beautiful hardware to our game and will be dropping the ceremonial puck.
We'll return the favor soon enough -- that Stanley Cup would look pretty good on the pitchers mound, don't you think?
Timmaaaaaaaaaaaay!

But the Sabres, even minus Drury and Briere, are formidable opponents.
"It doesn't seem to matter what they lose," joked a very calm looking Timmy -- currently second in goals against average with a 1.34 and first in save percentage with a .957. "They just bring up somebody from the minors."
"They are a tough team to play against."
Thomas is a tough goalie, but he knows just how important the next month is to Boston.
"It's a VERY important part of the year," he said. "It could decide who is going to make the playoffs."
4:16 p.m.
Just about an hour until I head upstairs...I just finished a photo gallery from this week's Children's Hospital events.
Click the picture at the right to travel to Childrens with Milan Lucic and Aaron Ward to spread some smiles and then go to the a gala thrown by Childrens Hospital to raise money for their cause and fete Patrice Bergeron for his continued contributions to the kids.
Obviously, Patrice wanted to go, but was unable, so Zdeno Chara accepted the award in his stead.
Boston Business Journal spoke of Patrice's award:
|
Bergeron will be honored at the hospital's Champions for Children's annual dinner and auction at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center Tuesday.
The award is given each year to a Boston athlete who exemplifies outstanding commitment to the community, Children's Hospital said in a release. Bergeron will receive the award from 10-year old David Youngerman, a patient with a rare brain disease called Moya Moya, whose life was saved by Children's Hospital.
Bergeron supports Children's through "Patrice's Pals"-- a program that brings children from local hospitals and other organizations to the TD Banknorth Garden as VIP Bruins game guests. He also visits hospitalized kids at Children's throughout the year.
More than 1,400 people will be at Tuesday's event with the goal of raising more than $4.5 million for Children's."
It really is unfortunate the Bergy was unable to attend -- but he should know that his name was on everyone's lips and nothing but good things could be heard about St. Patrice.
