Tonight’s Game
The Bruins visit the Sharks tonight in the only game between these teams this season and the Bruins first visit to San Jose since Mar. 21, 2003. The Bruins are 2-2-0 thus far this season with a 2-2-0 record on the road. The Sharks are 2-1-1 overall this season and are playing their first home game of the season tonight. The Bruins are 2-2-0 thus far this season vs. both Pacific Division and Western Conference teams. The Sharks are facing their first game of the season against both a Northeast Division team and an Eastern Conference opponent tonight.

Lifetime Series
The Bruins are 12-5-5-0 lifetime vs. San Jose with a 79-62 scoring advantage in those 22 games. The Bruins are 5-4-2-0 lifetime vs. the Sharks in San Jose with a 38-30 scoring edge in those 11 contests. The Sharks opened their 2007-08 regular season schedule with a four-game road trip, earning a 3-2 overtime loss in Edmonton on Oct. 4, a 3-1 win in Vancouver on Oct. 5, a 6-2 loss in Colorado on Oct. 7 and a 2-1 victory in Chicago on Oct. 10.

Upcoming Bruins Games
The Bruins next return to Boston for their home opener on Oct. 18 as they host Tampa Bay (7:00 p.m.) and they will host the NY Rangers on Oct. 20 (7:00 p.m.). Both games are broadcast on NESN and WBZ Radio.
 
Upcoming Sharks Games
The Sharks next face the Canucks in Vancouver on Oct. 15 before returning home to host Detroit on Oct. 18 and Nashville on Oct. 20.

The Bruins participated in one shootout during the 2007 pre-season, dropping a 4-3 decision to Toronto. That shootout went seven rounds with Toronto’s Pavel Kubina scoring the only goal of the shootout session on Boston’s Tim Thomas.

The Bruins faced one penalty shot during the 2007 pre-season with Manny Fernandez stopping Montreal’s Chris Higgins at 18:55 of the second period on Sept. 23.
