The Bruins, who will be donating Bruins apparel and street hockey equipment to Boston Centers for Youth and Families as part of this summer kick-off, also sent Brandon Bochenski to participate in the proceedings.
Bochenski recently signed a contract extension with Boston after providing the B's with a needed offensive shot in the arm during the last few months the of the 2006-07 campaign. Bochenski, who quickly became a fan favorite, ended the season with a 13-11-24 line.
The Black & Gold are proud to team up with Boston Centers for Youth & Families, the largest such group in Boston, with 46 facilities. BCYF community centers are "hubs of the neighborhoods," where Boston residents can access a variety of information and assistance.
Each summer, BCYF community centers provide traditional summer camp programs for 3000 youth ages 6-12. The Black & Gold's apparel and equipment will be utilized by various summer camps and programs such as Boston R.O.C.K.S (whose services provide recreational opportunity for City Kids). The 2007 BCYF Summer Campaign for Children & Youth, "taking it to the streets" will ensure that youth across the City of Boston have a safe, fun and healthy summer.
