This afternoon, Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli made a statement about the retirement of Brian Leetch:
"The Boston Bruins would like to congratulate Brian Leetch and his family on his Hall-of-Fame caliber career in the National Hockey League. In Brian’s time in the NHL he was not only a terrific hockey player, but also an incredibly classy person. We wish him and his family all of the best in retirement."
After spending his final season with the B's (2005-06) during which he recorded five goals and 27 assists in 61 games, Leetch ends his career with 1,205 games played, 247 goals with 781 assists.
