Arrive via T, Leave via HUMMER
On Fan Appreciation Night, one very appreciative Boston Bruins fanatic arrived at the TD Banknorth Garden via the MBTA and left in a HUMMER H3x.

Well, not really.

But that was the gist of the night's biggest contest, a contest in which one lucky fan turned the lucky key on one of three vehicles and garnered the right to go to HUMMER Village of Norwood to pick out their own H3x.

"How did that happen?" you ask.

Well, in order to even get to that point, Jessica Kozubal, the lucky fan, competed in, and won, the lucky shot promotion on February 8th, which was held between periods of the Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes game.

Invited back to Fan Appreciation Night, she was one of a dozen contestants (all of whom also won lucky shot games throughout the season) to enter a drawing for one of the three sets of keys that might start the beautiful vehicle.

Finally, while 'competing' against fellow fans Don Centracchico of Rhode Island and fellow Bay Stater Myles Freeman, Jessica was clearly the luckiest person in the building on April 7.

After being driven out to the ice in the gold H3x by Garden personnel, the lights dimmed and the spotlight was on Kozubal. Jessica, a freshman at Bridgewater State University, tried to start up her HUMMER and the powerful engine turned over.

"It feels awesome," said the overawed woman when asked about becoming the owner of a very luxurious auto. "I didn't even think it would when I was one of the twelve.

"I didn't get my hopes up, because I didn't even think I would be one of the three people to pick a key."

And to think, all it took was a little luck. Shooting against her good friend, Meredith, Jessica made just ONE shot during her first big moment on Garden ice and though her friend came close, Ms. Kozubal advanced.

"So when I got a key, I was freaking out," said Jessica. "I am very excited."

Jessica should be, the H3x is a beautiful vehicle. However, since winning she has been inundated with ride requests.

"Everyone has asked," said Kozubal, who admitted that she was happy just to receive the nice key chain she had been given earlier in the contest.

"She's a hard working girl," said Meredith, who also drove with Jessica to the dealership, and was clearly very happy that her friend won. "When she won, she said 'I don't think I deserve this.' And I said, 'Yes, you do.'

"She's a hard working person, who is very good with her money.

"It's awesome," she said.

For her part, Jessica said she has always been a Bruins fan.

And now, with a new set of keys in hand, no doubt she will arrive at the Garden for any future contests in style.
