Boston Bruins Recall Jeff Hoggan; Assign David Krejci

BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled left-winger Jeff Hoggan and assigned center David Krejci to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Hoggan, a 29-year old first year Bruin, has split the season between Boston and Providence. WIth Boston, Hoggan has played in 31 games and has earned two assists. He has also played in 19 games for Providence this season and has scored four goals and seven assists.

Last year, in his first full NHL season, Hoggan played 52 games for St. Louis scoring two goals and recording six assists.

Krejci, who is 20 years old and from Sternberk, Czech Republic, was selected in the second round (63rd overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. This is Krejci’s first season in Providence after spending the previous two years playing for the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

Krejci was recalled by Boston yesterday and played in the club’s 2-1 loss to the Minnesotta Wild last night at the TD Banknorth Garden. Krejci has played in six games with Boston this season. While with Providence this season, Krejci has scored 21 goals and registered 35 assists in 56 games played.

The Bruins hit the road today for a two-game road trip that pits them against the Flyers in Philadelphia on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. ET, and in Detroit against the Red Wings at 12:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Boston returns to the TD Banknorth Garden on Thursday, March 15 when they host the Washington Capitals at 7:00 p.m. ET. March 15, like every Thursday night game, is a Student Night. All high school and college students are eligible for one half-price ticket in the $45.50 and $55.00 price range with a valid student ID.
