Five more to go...
The Bruins road trip did not start the way they had hoped, and the Black & Gold endured a 4-1 loss to the New York Islanders in Uniondale, New York, on Thursday night.

And as head coach Dave Lewis and veteran Glen Murray prepared to board a flight to Buffalo, neither man held back when talking to NESN’s Rob Simpson.

"Well I guess the second goal, they just shot it at the net," explained Lewis. "The rebound hit one of our players when it went out and thus it went in.

"Then we started to press a little bit because time was running out and that created a 2-on-1 and that ended up in the net, too.

"You know, you have to score goals. You are not going to win hockey games just getting one goal," said Lewis.

Lewis went on to add, that if a turnaround is coming, there needs to be an offensive boom, from lots of sources, and quickly.

"It’s hard now to score goals and we are not paying a dear enough price, collectively," he said, adding "(we’ve got) too many guys who haven’t scored for 10 -15-20 games.

"And that’s not good enough."

Alternate captain Glen Murray was equally disturbed.

"We want to play in their zone," he said. "If we are in our zone the whole third period, it’s going to be goals (for them), or they are going to get good opportunities.

"We just have to get out of our own zone."

And that is not what the Bruins did against New York. Granted, Rick DiPietro had an amazing game, but Boston did not test him near enough.

Murray went on to say that the squad would muse about this one for a little bit, but needed to get their minds on the upcoming tilt with the NHL leading Buffalo Sabres.

"We have another game coming up Saturday," said Murray. "And we just have to be ready."

"Like I said before, (we know) the importance of these games. These games are very big for us and you don’t have to be a rocket scientist when you look at the standings.

"We have to get some points."
