Odds and Ends from Ristuccia
Glen Murray, nursing a groin strain, was missing from practice this afternoon.

"Yah (he) just aggravated it a bit more," said head coach Dave Lewis. "It’s sore today."

"I’m hoping (he can) return by Edmonton (on Tuesday)."

When did he tweak the injury, coach?

"I could tell last night as the game wore on," said Lewis. "I think it just fatigued on him."

But the Bruins are not taking any chances with their sniper.

"If we are going to err, we’re going to err on the side of caution," said Lewis. "We’re going to make sure that he doesn’t miss a whole string of games."

And that means, no Murray versus the New York islanders.

"He’ll miss tomorrow’s game and we’ll evaluate it prior to Edmonton," said Lewis.

Drilling down to the net
Going into tomorrow’s game with the Long Island squad, the Bruins performed some drills designed to improve their play around the net.

"It’s more of a down low offense, getting people in …getting pucks at the net," he said. "A lot of the drills were based on that. Going to those dirty areas that you need to get to (in order) to score goals.

"I don’t know if we get there enough."

Lines, schmines
"That doesn’t mean anything, the lines," explained Lewis when asked a question about his line structure. "It’s just a starting point and once the game gets going I change things an awful lot -- depending on power play, penalty killing situations.

"So, that will probably happen again."

That being said, here are today’s lines:

Axelsson - Savard - Bochenski
Sturm - Bergeron - Kessel
Reich - Primeau - Donovan
Mowers - Tenkrat - Chistov - Boyes

Also present were all six d-men: Allen, Alberts, Chara, Mara, Stuart, York

And the two goalies: Thomas, Toivonen

No word on the lineup or goaltender for tomorrow.
Coors Light - To the Black, The Gold, and The Cold
