Afternoon update
Tonight’s lineup, and by extension, the Bruins lines, are up in the air.

That’s because Glen Murray is feeling better and Marco Sturm will also be reevaluated for his own issues, today.

"If he gets cleared to play, he’ll play," said head coach Dave Lewis of Marco. "But I don’t know if he’ll get cleared to play."

The Bruins will not update his status or Murray’s condition, until tonight

"(Muzz) is going to go in the warm up and give it a try," said Lewis. "And if he feels that it’s safe to play, he’s going to play.

"We don’t want him to get into a situation where he aggravates it (so) that he would miss a longer period of time.

"As much as we love him in the lineup, because is so important to our team, there are more games after tonight."

If Murray does play this evening, expect him back on the line with Marc Savard.

"I am not going to bump Muzz off of that spot," said Lewis, "he’s going back to that (line)."

As far as the other lines go, what would be the plan?

"I was putting together lines with and without the two of them…that won’t be determined until I find out if they are okay to go. That’s still up in the air," said Coach.

Stay tuned.

Tonight, tonight
"Every time you play is a (new) opportunity," said Lewis about his new faces. "Depending on where you come from and where you’ve been, there is a lot of opportunity.

"That’s been the theme the last couple of days."

But they have a formidable opponent in the other locker room.

"We still have an opportunity, with the games in hand, and the teams we play (to make a move in the standings)," said Lewis, who reminded the press that the Bruins can’t overlook tonight’s visitor.

"These guys are the Stanley Cup Champions," said Coach. "We have the utmost respect for them.

"They have everything you can imagine (in the lineup), goaltending, coaching, skill, size, grit.

"You have to have all that, plus experience, to win The Cup so we know who we are playing."

Heard in the Room
"That’s nothing. I just try to conserve energy a little more, especially in practice. You still want to work hard, but you need to work smart as well.
Goaltender, Tim Thomas, on starting his fourth game in a row

"These guys are great, and offensively they are great, so we’ll try to stay in their zone and work their defensemen. I try to keep it loose and have fun, but at the same time keep it serious. You have more fun when you’re winning, so we’ll just try to keep the ball rolling tonight…We’re sticking together. We know what situation we’re in, so we know it’s going to be a team effort. We have the talent and the character, and we’ve been through a couple of rough times together, but we’ve battled back. This is our time and hopefully we can keep a good winning streak together.
Center, Marc Savard, on how The B’s will try to keep up their momentum

"We’ve worked a lot harder and we’re smarter at least. We’re playing both ends of the rink and that’s the main thing…we just have to get into that mode and confidence, and hopefully we can build on those to wins and keep it going…They have a really good team, and they’ve been struggling lately, but they’re the [Stanley] Cup Champions. We have to try to slow them down."
Forward, P.J. Axelsson, on the improvements the B’s have made & Carolina

"(Brandon) had some quality ice time and we responded really well. He scored a goal and made some good plays. He’s still learning our guys and our system, but he played on energy and emotion."
