It’s just under 9-hours to go before the Bruins attempt to continue their winning ways in Washington.

Tough task, especially when Washington ices super soph Alexander Ovechkin (33 goals, 37 assists, 70 points) and übergoalie Olaf Kolzig (18-18-4, .910 save percentage, 3.08 goals against average).

Boston will counter with leading scorer Marc Savard (18-48-66) and either Tim Thomas (20-16-3, .902, 3.27) or Hannu Toivonen (3-7-1, .869, 4.33). Lewis will make a decision on his goalie this morning.

The Bruins are also looking for an upgrade in firepower from Brandon Bochenski. The new winger has played in 50 NHL games and has a 10-9-19 line. Yesterday he saw time on a line with Wayne Primeau and Shean Donovan.

"It is a different (look)," said Coach. "But we are looking for offense from anywhere."

The other lines had a look that was similar to what we saw last time out.

"I am going to give Boysie another try with Savvy and Muzz (because) I thought that the last couple of games he’s responded in a real positive fashion.

"Phil has been good with (Bergeron and Axelsson) over the last couple of games, too."

Nothing is permanent, however.

"I’m just waiting and watching," said Lewis, who added "there could be a shuffle of a line, even halfway through a game, if things aren’t going (our) way."

Medically, the Bruins have a headache because of head injuries. First it was rookie David Krejci who went down, concussed. Now it’s Marco Sturm.

"Yah, I think he officially does have a concussion," said Coach. "(He has) concussion symptoms.

"There’s different levels, and things like that, so we’re taking all the precautions that are required and necessary for a player to return healthy."

So Marco has stayed home to recover.

"(The medical staff) monitors that," said Lewis. "Then you have to go through a series of tests (before you can return to play).

There’s better news on the Glen Murray front. What Glen Murray front, you ask?

Murray left practice early on Monday.

"Muzz left early because he didn’t feel well, so we’ll see how he is tomorrow," said Lewis.

As far as tonight’s opponent goes, the Bruins know what they are facing: A tough team, battling for a playoff spot, employing dangerous players.

"(Ovechkin) played a really good game (over the weekend), Zednick, too," said Coach. "I thought that they played hard.

"They are a hard team to play because Glen Hanlon has all the players playing at the same level.

"And once you get through that level of play, they have a goaltender that can steal a game for you. It’s a critical time for us to try and build on something that happened Saturday night, and continue (on a positive path)," he said.

Asked about his former defenseman’s play, now that he works the back line for the Caps, Lewis said he was pleased for Milan Jurcina.

"I saw (Jurcina), he played a lot of minutes," said the coach. "He’s (probably) playing on emotion, on a new team, and is excited and he gets a different type of opportunity there, so good for him."

Keep it here.
