Heard after the game
"I thought it was one of our better games, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. We just have to regroup and fight until the end. Nobody’s quitting or shutting down. Everyone has their head up…(Brad’s) not one of those guys who usually does (fight), but tonight, he stepped up and got everyone into the game."
Boston Bruins Captain, Zdeno Chara, on the loss, Brad Boyes fight

"We stood up for ourselves, Boysie stood up for himself, and the whole night we gave everything we had. (The Sabres) weren’t skating around (without) fear. They had guys looking over their shoulders to make sure they wouldn’t get hit, and that’s the way it should be. If anything I think we at least gained a little respect"
Goalie, Tim Thomas, on the positive

"I’m not a tough guy, but I try to help out however I can. I haven’t been producing offensively, so I was just trying to lift the team however I could. I hope I provided some spark, but we’re definitely in a rut right now and we have to turn this around quickly. Time is running out."
Forward, Brad Boyes, on the fight

"It takes a lot of courage to do that. Sometimes that has to happen. Sometimes you have to stick up for yourself and your teammates. It’s fight or flee. I don’t mean that in the literal sense, and some guys stepped up and fought. Other guys have not, yet."
Boston Bruins Head Coach, Dave Lewis, on the Brad Boyes fisticuffs

"We had more scoring chances tonight than we’ve had in a long time, and the puck is just not going in."
Lewis, on the Bruins offense

"When players play their best, it’s spontaneous. It’s not a thought process. You go to an area and you make a play. I saw a lot of that tonight. We were physical and had passion in our game. We just have to battle our way out. The things I didn’t like were the careless and selfish penalties that we took. That kills us. So there is still work to be done."
Lewis, on what he liked and didn’t like about last night’s game

"He is still getting stitched up in the facial area, and I don’t know the extent of the damage to teeth, but I personally thought that should have been a penalty. I’m surprised nobody saw it when there were four heads on the ice. The interference call behind the net, that first goal, that was what really got me."
Lewis,on Marco Sturm’s injury

"He’s big and strong and he can have a career, just not in Boston. We weren’t as happy with him as we wanted to be, and that’s why the trade was made. I shook his hand and he thanked me and the other coaches. That’s the nature of the business."
Lewis,on Milan Jurcina

"We knew we were up against a team that was going to fight pretty hard. Being embarrassed like they were last time. That was a well-fought game. It really could have gone either way. We made some big saves. Their guy gave them some big saves at the same time. For a little while it looked like both teams power plays weren’t very good. But we found a way to get one. It’ s nice to win on the road again."
Buffalo Sabres Head Coach, Lindy Ruff, on the Bruins

"Toni was on the ice for well over a minute. He was getting tired. Boyes suckered him to start the fight and Toni held his own. When you go out fresh and fight you’ve got a lot better chance. But I’ve got to give him a lot of credit for doing what he did…We have time to even that one up."
Ruff, on the fight between Brad Boyes and Toni Lydman
