Three Big Games in Four Days
It’s a huge four-day, three-game stretch for Boston.

As such, B’s head coach Dave Lewis took a few moments after practice to reflect on returning to the Boston area and how the guys reacted to his first session following the break.

"It was a necessary practice," he said. "(We had to) just to get back together, (be healthy) again and find some energy for the final drive.

"They guys had all of that. They were excited again, (happy to) see each other, practice, skate and get that first workout in."

How is the health of the club, Coach?

"(Wayne) Primeau is ready to go," said Lewis of his previously injured forward. "Jason York is not ready to go. He’s…day-to-day."

Patrice Bergeron left practice early. Is there anything going on with him?

"(Bergeron) is okay, he just didn’t feel good."

So what about the inconsistency that ails the club, Dave, what’s the cure?

"Probably all the same things we talked about for a long time," said Lewis. "The little things -- the structure of the system.

"You have to have good saves. You have to play strong defensive hockey. You have to make good decisions with the puck in the neutral zone. And you have to (attack).

"All of those things are consistent with what we have ’preached’ right from the beginning, so, nothing is going to change that way," he said.

Lewis also believes that the job of climbing the rungs has just gotten harder.

"As everybody knows, after the All-Star Game, points are harder to get," explained Lewis. "Players can see the end of the season and they’re looking at the standings and looking at positioning.

"The teams that are on top want to stay on top, the teams in the middle try to climb and the teams that aren’t in it want to get up there (into the race)," he said.

The Bruins practice today in anticipation of their tilt with Ottawa on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

The Bruins return home to face the Rangers on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. and then charter out to Buffalo for a game on Tuesday evening.
