Boston Bruins Recall Bobby Allen; Assign Matt Lashoff to Providence Bruins (AHL)
BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Bobby Allen and assigned defenseman Matt Lashoff to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Allen, a 28 year-old defenseman, has spent the entire 2006-2007 season in Providence after being signed by the Bruins as a free agent on July 17, 2006. In Providence this season he has played in 31 games, where he has scored five goals and registered 12 assists.

The Hull, MA native and Boston College Graduate, was drafted by the Bruins with their second pick (52nd overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. In addition to the Bruins, Allen has spent time with Edmonton Oilers and New Jersey Devils organizations during his five-year career. Over this period, he has appeared in one NHL game, which came when he was member of the Edmonton Oilers on December 31, 2002 against the Dallas Stars.

Lashoff, who was with the Bruins since being recalled on January 6, played 12 games with Boston this season, recording two assists. The 20-year-old defenseman has spent the majority of this season with Providence. With the AHL club he has played in 28 games, scored six goals and registered 11 assists this season.
