Happy Boxing Day

Tuesday, 12.26.2006 / 10:07 AM / News
Boston Bruins
Good morning to fans in the United States and Happy Boxing Day to fans in Canada.

It is a big day for the World Juniors as both squads have games today.

Good luck, boys!

BTW, a quick question, and an assignment: Can my friends above the border send me an explanation of what, exactly, is Boxing Day? When did it start? Etc.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I will post a couple of your answers for the edification of your friends below the border.

And another thing, before I started this job I had no idea how many Bruins fans reside in Canada.

Thanks for your support my friends. It can’t be easy to be a fan from so far away, and kudos to your tenacity. Our Boys do notice you in the other arenas around the continent -- so don’t forget to wear your jerseys when the Bruins are on the road in your city.

By the way, and speaking of tenacity, the B’s are looking pretty good.

And (in the parlance of my adopted home) I am wicked psyched for tonight’s contest.

I was really psyched on Saturday night, too, for tboth the win and for the crowd.

The Garden was sold out and the Bruins really responded to the energy.

In any case, when I get some updates from the road, I will post them ASAP. So keep it here for the latest and the greatest.

More later…
