Give it a shot!
It was a relieved and satisfied team that recovered in the Bruins locker room last night.

Yah, there were some mistakes. Yah, they’ve played better. But they won.

"We just battled through," said Jason York. "We stayed patient, stayed with our game plan and played really solid throughout the whole game tonight."

"We knew we had to come up with a better effort," said Brad Stuart (who has recently gone by the name ’Snipes’ in the room, thanks to his recent offensive outburst). "New Jersey is a good team -- very disciplined."

"You know, we had to match that discipline. It might have been really boring at times, but that’s the kind of game you have to play to compete with them.

"And I think that we did a pretty good job," he said.

Brad Boyes had an outstanding game.

"From the get go, I think our team looked to get pucks to the net," he said. "It’s a matter of getting pucks through.

"Not blistering shots, just on net. Enough to create some havoc, create some rebounds," he said.

That’s just how his puck went in, by the way.

Just a simple shot on net.

"We had 45 shots," said Bruins goalie Tim Thomas. "It’s probably a season high."

And Clemmensen being in net was not the reason.

"I think we would have shot that much on Brodeur today, too. Or at least we would have tried," said Tim.

Patrice Bergeron agreed -- noting the lack of offensive chances the Bruins created against the Devils last week.

"The mindset today was to compete hard, to forecheck and get the puck to the net," said the Assistant Captain. "Last game, twenty shots on Brodeur, there’s not too many that’s going to go in. He’s a great goalie.

"They’re a good defensive team, but if we go hard at them they are going to make some mistakes.

"We have a lot of respect for [Clemmensen] as well, he played well and made some great saves and kept them in the game.

"But the mindset, again, was just to go hard and put the puck on net," he said.

It worked.
